Cry Me A River
for the past few weeks, i had been feeling a little sorry for myself. i had a nasty cold that wouldn't go away (i finally DON'T sound like i've got a touch of the consumption) and i was going through some minor domestic issues (but again nothing that a good beating into submission couldn't take care of --ha). but things are better now. J and i are on the same page when it comes to the moving thing...we aren't going anywhere until we find a house we both are in love with and in the meantime, we're staying put.
in fact, we both really like this house...unfortunately it's not for sale. we've run into this problem more than once.
in other news, my secret pal ... the one who gives me presents ... asked me if i'd been doing any knitting lately. well yes, i have.
i'm almost finished with those chicken pillows from the Fall IK i spoke about here. all i have to do is sew them up and do the finishing embroidery. and of course stuff 'em.
i'm also working on a mitered afghan that i'm making to cover up our mangy looking couch. it's about half way done.
i've also been doing some charity knitting. i've been making hats for underpriviledged kids in the boston area for a group called Caps for Kids. i adapted larissa's meat head pattern and i've been making them with scraps of lion homespun using size 10 needles. they're kind of cute i think.
finally, i've been doing a little crochet as well. sometime ago i had purchased from ebay some mercerized cotton so i've adapted annie modesitt's little girl jacket from the IK crochet issue.
here's what i've done so far. it's a birthday present for a friend's little girl.
so you see, i have been busy! ok, i've got to get to work. damn! work really gets in the way, doesn't it.
