2.  have i been showing up in bloglines lately?  just wondering. 

3.  a lot of you have been talking about the horror that has become katrina's aftermath.  i've been watching the news with a very heavy  heart -- not only for the tens of thousands of people who have lost loved ones and their homes -- but also  for the historically beautiful city of new orleans.  i never got a chance to visit.
