Election Results
i'm smiling a little bit inside this morning because it looks like the democrats could be coming back .
2 new governors -- in virginia and new jersey. arnold's reforms got the no-go -- too bad so sad. even the fine folks in dover, pa threw out the republican whacko school board who wanted intelligent design to be discussed in science class. yay! and maine decided to keep their anti-discrimination law. yay maine.
then there's texas. texas voted for a constitutional ban on gay marriage. but what do you expect. they're the fine people who gave us George W. Bush.

Yeah, let's hope people are finally wising up. But why did it take so long, and why not before the Pres election? Now we've got 3 years left of this guy. Unbelievable. Chelle

Like Heather said, it isn't all Texans. The liberal ones are unfortunately just in the minority.

Don't be too worried, Texas may have just voted in a constitutional ban on marriage. Very sloppy drafting. We'll see what happens to it in the courts. Some liberal, lawyer friends in Texas are chuckling over this one.

Not all of us from Texas are bad!! I didn't vote for Bush or that discriminatory amendment. I will say that I have seen some health insurance forms that do have a 'life-partner' check box, so maybe not all is lost.

And don't you just love that the Republicans didn't want W stumping for them? The one he did support, lost, I think, but I can't remember who it was. Anyway, things might be looking up.

As a Virginian, I voted for Kaine and I'm thrilled. But I have to wonder how much of it is backlash. Kilgore ran extremely negative, constant ads. In one, Hitler was referenced.
Since the lt. governor is a Republican, I have to assume that it's a 'Kilgore sucks, but we still want our tax cuts' kind of vote.

Hehe, you make me giggle. My father recently traded in his "your village called, their idiot is missing" shirt for one that sported the "somewhere in texas, a village is missing their idiot" text. Pretty much says it all.
