yesterday morning in copley square i came across this exhibit called "Eyes Wide Open."
here are shoes representing the over 10,000 iraqis, mostly women and children, who have died.

Really brings it all home, doesn't it? Reminds me of going to Majdanek concentration camp in Poland and seeing piles and piles of shoes taken from the prisoners. It finally sunk in that each of these shoes, from big ones to tiny toddler sized ones, belonged to someone who was killed. Sobering.
