Two Hundred and Eighty Seven
the title of my post refers to the number of steps it takes to get to the top of the arc de triomphe. doesn't sound like much, but i'm old and fat. and it was hot. and all i could hope for is that it would be well worth it.

Can I just tell you I watched Before Sunset while you were in France and I just cried (mostly because of the movie)- I know in my soul that I need to make it there NOW. Thank you for sharing so much of your experience.

Looks like it was well worth it, an dif you amde it all the way to the top you are not that old nor that fat...

I'm old, not fat, but tire easily. At ANY rate, that's ALOT of stairs...but definitely worth it. Thanks so much for sharing...

Just a few more steps and you could have cast on for Birch while you were walking. (it's 299 st, and no one who's done it ever forgets the experience.)
