i present to you .... my first pair of jaywalkers .... ta-daaaa!!!!!
the first sock was knit up quickly, the second sock, not so much. but finally. success. am i the last person to have completed a jaywalker? probably. or i'm just initiating the next wave.
the yarn used: lion brand magic stripe in regatta blue stripes, 1 skein
needle: size 3, 40in addi turbo via the magic loop
i modified the pattern slightly by casting on 68 stitches and knitting 6 stiches between each increase and decrease. and i shortened the leg portion because i was afraid i'd run out of yarn.
these socks are thick and sturdy and will be great worn with my old doc marten boots. i love the zigzaggy stripes.
thanks grumperina for a fun pattern!

Great socks! I love my jaywalkers too. :)

Lovely jays! Even the right colors for a BLUE jay.
You aren't the last one. I haven't done it yet.

Ooh, lovely! I haven't knit Jaywalkers yet... perhaps it's time!

Those will surely complement the Docs.

They're really cute!

Congratulations. You are not the last one, mine are still on their way. I started anew twice already, the heel never fits.

you are not the last person to complete... i haven't even started a pair. they look great! and it's all about the process, right?

Cute! Perhaps I should make a second pair - to be cool like you!

Nice socks! I'm waiting on some really loud, Regia sock yarn before I start a pair of my own. Yours look great!

The way your heals stripe is so perfect! I love how the patterns match, but in different colors. I think you've convinced me to try a pair.

Lovely! I'm still not going to knit socks, but these are *very* persuasive.

Awesome! They look fantastic. You're first on the 2nd wave of Jaywalkers.
Posted by: caro | December 07, 2006 at 11:42 AM
Definitely next wave. Someday I'll finish my second pair...

They are great! I have yet to make Jaywalkers, but I do have some yarn *very* similar to this in my stash - Regia has the same colorway in their 4fãdig collection.

Very nice! Makes me want to knit another pair.

Great! You started the next wave-I have not made any yet. Love your color choice too! Beautiful knitting!

Lovely Jaywalkers, the zig-zaggy stripes are cool. Now I may be the only blogger to have never knit a pair.

It's never too late to knit a Jaywalker. :-) Yours are awfully cute!
Maybe I should give it another try!

I think you're initiating another wave. I've cast on twice for Jays - first sock was way too small, second was too big. Someday I'll get it right because I really love these socks. Your colors look great!

Yay!! They look awesome! :o)
Posted by: JessaLu | December 07, 2006 at 10:14 AM
Yay you! There is still at least one knitter who has never made a jaywalker.

They look fantastic. I'm just about to cast on for my 2nd pair b/c mine have ended up being my favorite socks.

I like those! Now that you've made one pair, how many more will you make? they are addictive!

Yay! They look fab!

Nice socks! This is one of only 2 patterns that I've ever knit twice (not counting basic hats, mitts, etc.) In fact, I'm wearing my Jaywalkers today.

Congratulations. And welcome to the party.

I love the bullseye toes!

You're definitely not the last - the jaywalkers are somewhere in my 'to be knit... sometime' list.
I really like the colours in these.

Congrats! The yarn is nice, too- just enough color, but the pattern shows so well.
