we're beginning to see pictures of flowers and new spring growth (i know i've seen other pictures, but i don't remember where) all over the place.
this is what's growing at my house.

lichen and moss. basically the only vegetation that grows on the tundra.
Hey, it's got to grow somewhere! Cool pics!

Just looking at those pictures gave me a chill and had me thinking of my hot water bottle.

The rare Montréal tundra pigeons, they are not happy. No lichen and the trash bags are iced over, too.

Beautiful pix as always. Hang in there: even the tundra will soon see spring. (Yes, it was really snow. We still had a little left in the morning, although I didn't get to photograph those perfectly outlined limbs.)

Did you see the snow on Saturday night? I was going up to bed sometime around midnight, and when I looked out the window, every branch of every tree was perfectly outlined in white. By morning it was gone, though. I wondered if I had imagined it.

Wow, nice spring, maryse! And I'm in awe of your crocheted afghan ... I'm just starting to figure out how to crochet for real, not for pretend (like I do edgings on sweaters), and yours looks great! What yarn are you using?

I've got dead grass in my front yard... and lots of mud everywhere else. At least the lichen is green!

Me too. Nice shot, BTW. Shows off the native vegetation well.

GREEN! There's some GREEN in there!
That counts for something. Sorta.

At least it something to let you know spring is arriving! Enjoy the greening!

Love it! those are great picks of the less "show-y" greenery of spring, nice!

Those both grow readily here is Georgia too. I love the thick green texture of that moss.

Looks like my house too – but it's hard to see with all the mud :)

I still have a skating rink in my back yard...stupid snow. :o(

That's more than I've got. The only thing emerging here is litter, from underneath the melting snow piles. Ahh, springtime in the city. I'm hoping to see more cheerful signs this weekend.

I think we have mold here - we aren't even up to lichen!
Posted by: Chris | March 23, 2007 at 11:13 PM
Well, at least it's very photogenic lichen!

I hear ya, Sister! I still can't see my lawn under the snow!

Oh, you're TOO FUNNY. I'm still on the glacier, then.
