What Is That In Cat Years?
i'm postponing "things i like monday" until tomorrow because i'm grumpy and i don't really like anything at this particular moment.
imagine this face but a lot older. yes, i'm that grumpy.
but i do want to announce that a birthday was celebrated this weekend.
mr. napoleon turned 17. i think he's ready to date and borrow the keys to the car.
in cat years, he's older than dirt, but other than having lost some muscle tone over the years (he's a little too thin and i keep giving him treats to fatten him up a bit) he appears to be doing just fine. he still jumps up on the counters, growls at the other cats, scarfs down tuna, hates j with every fiber of his 8lb being, and insists on lying on my chest, like he did as a kitten, when i'm knitting (when he's not lying down on my knitting).
happy birthday buddy!

Awww! Napoleon: Long Live the Emperor? (King?.. whatever)!!!
Happy belated b-day. Hope you enjoyed your extra scritches and treats.

Great photos!

Excellent pics! (both of them). Just hope that Mr. N doesn't let the new found freedom get to his head, you don't want a late-night call to spring him from the county lock-up. But I am sure he is much more responsible than that! ;-)

Aw, Napoleon hates J.? That's too bad. I bet he just doesn't like to share you!
17 is a very distinguished age for a cat. I bet he carries on like his imperial namesake. ;-)

Happy birthday to the big guy (relatively) who is living life just as big!

I'm sitting here with a purrball under my arm and one at the foot of the bed (who was so scared by the vibrating phone that he gouged holes in my belly), sending you & Napoleon happiest birthday wishes.
My Monday sucked too. That's why I'm in bed at 8:30 pm.

Love that you started the What I LIke Monday to encourage good feelings even when grumpy, but today's grumpiness was too much to break through :) Wow, 17 yo kitty deserves a special treat today!

Aww, happy birthday Mr Napoleon! My cat Bratty turned 16 in January. She is way too skinny (she's down to under 6lbs but her weight in her heydays was only 8-9lbs) but she is poking along just fine. Here's to both our geriatric felines having many more days in front of them. :)

I'm sorry you're grumpy. Hope tomorrow is better. happy Birthday to the kitty!

Aw, happy birthday, little buddy. (Ignore mama, she'll be ok.) You just keep being you. ;)
My kitty Bambi was 20, and spunky. He had a heart murmur, and I was told he'd never see 1 year old. It shows ya what love can do.

My cat's around 17 now (his designated birthday is at the end of the summer, but it's probably a few months off). Hopefully they'll both have plenty of good years to go.
Also, I sympathize with the not-liking-anything Monday. Today was the first day of classes for me after Spring Break, and I'd have to think damn hard to figure out what's good about it.

Awwwwwwwwwww... I don't know who's cuter.
He's in his 70's somewhere. The age chart I have for cats jumps from 16 to 20 for some reason. My Precious is 18. Old enough to drive and vote. o.0
Happy Birthday, Mr. Napoleon!

I like that picture of you!
And hey- I had a random thought, and knowing almost nothing about crochet or the squares, what would a granny square out of Noro be like? Is there not enough yarn used for a repeat to occur?

Well, you like Napolean, right? So you didn't TOTALLY post "Things I Like Monday". :o)
