Bustin' The Stash

the rippling has ended.  let us take a moment to reflect ....

ripple blanket

the original plan was for a much longer blanket.  a rectangle.  i like rectangles.  but i ran out of yarn.  and i wasn't about to buy more.  (have i mentioned that the ball bands lied?  that the skeins that i did weigh, weighed in at 15-20% less than indicated on the label?  just be forewarned.) can i tell you how happy i am that this is finished?

Wow. This is so beautiful. What a great way to bust your stash! I wish I could do something like this for my jewelry.

I love the blanket. Was this a free pattern? If so where can I find it?

Beautiful blanket. I want to knit a ripple blanket. Did you use a "system" for the random colors?- it is so beautifully done, can you give me a hint or two about color placement?

You have a fantastic eye for color, Maryse!!

How in the world did I miss this post!? Love the colors...that is one very cool afghan!

Your afghan is colorful and stunning.

Awesome ripple blanket!

Absolutely gorgeous! You've got a clear winner here! I love all the colors you chose, and the order in which you combined them.

You know, I must've been channeling you yesterday, because I actually... crocheted. Blasphemy!

Wow, it's beautiful. I bet it felt great to use up all that stash. Incredible.

So gorgeous! And thanks for the tip about the Merino Style and Andean Treasure.

unblieveable. stunning. seriously speechless.

It's gorgeous. I have been learning crochet just so i can make this blanket! Love the colours. :0)

Maryse, your afghan makes me really want to learn to crochet!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW! It is gorgeous! And a great stash buster!

It's fantastic!

That is one truly glorious afghan! I love the interplay of all the colors and the square shape, even if it was unintentional.

That is stunning! Square is fine when it looks like THAT.

My drug dealer's scale says that most purveyors do lie. The socks never weigh 4 oz, and the fiber rarely weights what it says. Either their scales are conveniently off kilter, or their weigh-in areas are much moister than my house. It really has started to bug me.

It's just beautiful! Enjoy using it!

awesome! love the colors & effect of the pattern - very cool. Enjoy!

Oh, LOVE! Beautiful, just beautiful!(Must ward of the urge to learn to crochet...)

Wow, this is the first time I've ever looked at crochet and thought "beautiful." Great job!

Ripple blankets are magic! What other explanation could there possibly be for putting all those colors together and still ending up with something I want to steal, uh I mean admire. Nice work.

I've heard before that the Knit Picks skeins are underweight. So lame.

Wow. That is so cool.

congrats, it's beautiful.
15-20% is a pretty big discrepancy...
imagine if everyone did that + could get away with it :)

yeah, what they all said. ;)

This turned out great! I'm amazed by how so many colors can go into these ripple blankets and still look fantastic.

Gorgeous, vibrant colours. It's beautiful!

Did you tell them about the weight being off? I would like to know what they have to say about that!

How beautiful! Blankets are quite an accomplishment. Yours looks really great :)

Ok, now I'm jealous. I'm so making one.

Beautiful!

You did a wonderful job.

That is so great. I love to curl up in a nice big afghan with a book and tea. I love how lively the colors are, so bright and cheery, it will be perfect on a rainy day.

Looks awesome, and major kudos for doing it all from stash!

It looks awesome!

That's a pretty serious weight discrepancy. I'd call them and demand more yarn for free.

This is really amazing. I am not normally a fan of a zillion colors randomly striped, but I love this. It's like neon lights reflected in water.

Gorgeous! I particularly like the gray/blue/green sequence. 15-20% is a pretty big discrepancy!

It's great! So cheery, it just makes you smile looking at it. (I bet especially now that it's done!)

love it maryse. great pics, too.

this really makes me want to learn how to crochet again.

that is gorgeous!

I love this! It makes me want to learn how to crochet!

I'm a little sad to see this project end. It was so much fun watching it grow! :-)

My! How rippley! Nice job. :D

Stunning! What amazing color choices. I'm so envious of your color sense. Well done, m'lady, well done.

Wow! The aqua and hot pink just POP! Great color layout! And you did this in two months? I'm impressed.

Woo! Even without buying the extra yarn, you were way more dogged on this than I would have been. Way to go!

Beautiful! I also ran out of yarn & my ma said, "Why didn't you just buy more?" I think I ran out of patience too. She didn't get it.

Oh Maryse... it is beautiful! The colors are fantastic together, and I just love the ripple stitch. I about thisclose to starting an afghan myself!

Absolutely friggin gorgeous! I am in love!

This is such a fun looking blanket! I love the colours.

Bring the crochet hooks on Saturday, that's all I'm saying.

The blanket is beautiful. Go you!

It's gorgeous! Heh, not hard to figure out how KP can make money, is it? Tricksy.

BEAUTIFUL!!!!

Very nice! I really like the last photograph.

Look at how fun and awesome that is!!!! I am so going to learn to crochet someday!

the colors look amazing, and it looks so warm and cozy. beautiful blanket!

I wish, wish, wish I knew how to crochet! (That's the second time I've said that this morning.)

Your blanket is beautiful.

Gorgeous!

WOW!! It's beautiful!

Gorgeous!

Wow! I love it! Are you keeping it or is it a gift? I hope you hang on to it - it's an heirloom!

Wow! The colors work great together.

Oh my God! I think that is amazing! I've always wanted to crochet an afghan like that, but I'm crochet impaired.

Bummer about the yarn. Did you let Knitpicks know? I'll have to start weighing my skeins.

That's SO impressive. It's such a major accomplishment, and it's beautiful.

Wonderful color combination! It's beautiful.

Beautiful!

It's fabulous! You should be really proud!

very cool!
love the colors :-)
