What I Did on My Summer Vacation: Bermuda Shorts

two years ago, i went on a bermuda cruise with the inlaws.  it was a nice easy cruise -- we left from boston, sailed to bermuda over a day and half, stayed in bermuda for 4 days, then sailed back.   this year, the cruise was a totally different experience ... not bad ... just different.  there was a lot of time spent at sea and very little time spent on land.

our first port of call was dockyard, bermuda.  first of all, bermuda is beautiful.  it was my favorite stopover. and because i'd been there before, i didn't waste any time with any of the on land excursions organized by the cruise line.  j and i bought 1-day bus/ferry passes and hopped a ferry straight for st. george's, which is where i took all of these pictures.

the inlaws headed for the beach.  j was bored out of his tree and wished he'd gone to the beach with them, but it's not like i hadn't warned him.

Sun-drenched and gorgeous. Just gorgeous. Great job!

Amazing photos, as everyone else has said! :)
But the church folly sign? Priceless.

Thanks for sharing! Very pretty photos!

Your photographs are just incredible. I've never been to Bermuda but it looks beautiful. I'm glad you didn't get lost in the triangle. Did you think about that at all during the cruise? heehee

Very entertaining photography. I, also, like the stone shots.

Gorgeous photos!

Great photos!

There's just something about stonework... and that sign is priceless.

Beautiful! That sign cracks me up!

Lovely photos, as usual! I'd love to be as good a photographer as you!

Beautiful, beautiful! Especially that first picture. Wow.

golly... you took some great shots. lovely light helps, eh?

Wow those photos look so familiar! I worked on some historical building signage for the town of St. Georges a couple of years ago. Since they had recently been designated a UNESCO world heritage site, they wanted to snag tourists on the way to the beach from the cruise boats so they might walk through their quaint twisty narrow streets and visit the town. I got to go there about 4 times for work meetings, so fun!

What gorgeous photos!

Yes next time you come down you should time it for cup match, its when we play cricket and have a really good time. Also i advise anyone who is planning a trip to look into activities before hand, scuba diving and charter fishing are really good times if you can organise them. We have the highest density of shipwreck dives, as well as a host of professional fishing competitions! Theres alot of history here, if you have the time for it! St. Georges and The Maritime Museum are two of the best sites, theres also the smallest drawbridge in the world, Somerset Bridge, as well as one of the smallest and oldest churches in the western Hemisphere. Im glad you enjoyed your stay! And those are some terrific photos! Id love to see what youd make of the fish and shipwrecks if you got your hands on those!!!

Beautiful photos!

Those photos are beautiful. I love them.

Wow. The whites, the blues - so beautiful. Now I want to go to St. George.

You are one heck of a photographer. Beautiful sights, too.

Wow, you take gorgeous photos!

Ahhh, Bermuda is lovely. As are your photos.
