What I Did On My Summer Vacation: The Big British V

*sigh*

anyone else not feel like blogging?  because i certainly don't.

but i don't feel like doing work even less.

*sigh*

so here we go....

next stop on our cruise after a day at sea was Tortola, one of the islands of the British Virgin Islands.  It was my first time in Tortola and after docking, my MIL and I decided to do a little exploring.  Since it was 300 degrees, that got old fast.  (I would just like to point out that my skin is the color of paste.  I am not evolutionarily suited for the environmental or climatic conditions in this this part of the world.  AND YES EVOLUTION IS PRETTY MUCH SCIENTIFIC FACT!!!)

so we quickly hopped on Captain Friendly's taxi/bus/pick-up truck with seats, for a 3 hour tour.

for $15 we got a little history (there were a lot of pirate stories .... arrrgggghhh) and current events (apparently  the "Pirates of the Caribbean" movies were filmed here) and we got to do a little shopping and a little relaxing and we got to see a lot of beautiful scenery.

Those are beautiful pictures! Nice eye.

I can't believe you actually came back. I'd have been sorely tempted to jump ship and stay there. (Except for the heat...)

Holy crap - you aren't a creationist? Isn't wool a hallmark of Intelligent Design? Kidding! FYI, there was an interesting article in the July 13 Boston Globe on butterfly evolution in Samoa (page A4, left hand column).

You mean you “believe” in evolution?! (heehee)

Beautiful photos!

I don't feel like blogging either... of course mine is due to being sucked into Ravelry 24/7!!

I love the pic of the sand and the palm tree... it would make an amazing postcard!

Glad I'm not the only commenter who wanted to roll around in the sand where Johnny Depp stood. Hee hee!

It's a shame Johnny wasn't on the beach WHILE you were there! Gorgeous pics! You are now ready to be an excellent tourism promoter!

Gorgeous! (and yeah, I kind of don't feel like bloggin, either. I feel like sleeping, but I'm at work because I also feel like paying my bills. *big dramatic angsty sigh*

Beautiful pictures. Gorgeous pictures. Stunning pictures! Thanks. I needed that.

Let's sit right back and you'll hear a tale

a tale of a fateful trip

It started on a tropic isle...blah blah blah

...now it's stuck in my head. Thanks. ;op

Did you roll around on the Johnny Depp beach? hehehe

a three hour tour....I'll be humming that theme song all day now. :) The water looks amazing.

Wow, so *so* beautiful! Thanks for sharing them even though you didn't feel like it.

My ancestors came from the frozen north - I hear ya. (Of COURSE it's scientific fact!) Gorgeous pictures - I'm sorry you were practically swooning from the heat to get them! (Didn't you *swoon* to hear about Johnny Depp??? hehehe)

Love the pictures. It's well over a hundred here, but without the water it's just bleh! Thanks for sharing!

Sigh. Beautiful, beautiful pictures. I wanna go.

LOVE the pics!!! They are beautiful!

hat is just so amazing. And I would definitely have taken a bus. Because I too evolved under cold and cloudy skies.

love the pics, Arrrr! Yay Evolution, Arrr! Everything sounds better in "pirate"!

"when are you leaving" hahahahahaha, oh, I'm dying here!

That house would totally be unremarkable if it weren't for that one shutter being open. Awesome pictures.

just love the pics.

and blogging, schmogging. i haven't done it in almost a month and don't think i will be any time soon. it's too hot to blog.

or something.

My favorite is the elevated one, looking down on everything. Breathtaking.
Speaking of JD, I'll take him if there are no takers. Just offering...

No. You're not the only one.

Gorgeous photos. /truly jealous

You lost me at Johnny Depp.

The photos are gorgeous.

So pretty!

Who you yelling at woman? Everyone KNOWS evolution is real... um. Ok. Everyone with a brain. (was that offensive? maybe you have to 'edit' me). The beach is gorgeous... pls tell me you had a pina colada... or 5.

When are you leaving? Looks like you'll have a GREAT time!! :)

Are those pix real? I mean, you didn't photoshop the colors into the water or anything?

Of course they are. They're just unbelievable.

**Pretty much** scientific fact???
