For Your Mother-in-Law ... Or Not

knitting progress has been a little slow lately, but last week, with a few days off, i made considerable progress.  most notably, i finished the scarf for my mother-in-law and gave it to her for her birthday on sunday.   i think it was a success (meaning -- she seemed to like it.)

i need a name for this thing

and if she doesn't like it, i don't care, because i do.

gathered scarf

and if you'd like to make one for yourself, i've written down the pattern.   you can find the pattern also in the sidebar to the right -- over there.

also, i'd like to thank you all for the enthusiastic thumbs-up you've given my fun fur tree.  if you make one, please let me know.  i'd love to see it.

and that's it for the patterns from me for awhile.  coming up with something even remotely original is exhausting.

I forgot to tell you that I've posted my scarf (in progress) on Ravelry under my name keredding.

Thanks for the pattern. I've started it already and have blogged about it. Absolutely love the pattern! Good job.

Dang I have MISSED OUT by being such a driveby blogger lately. I ADORE this scarf. Love it. Want to eat it. It is sooooooooo pretty. I was never going to knit another scarf again, but now I totally am.

You can just call me copy cat.

Except for the giving it away to my MIL part. I'm too selfish for that.

You HAVE to send your Kitschmas Tree photo to the BBC - they've got a slideshow of kitschy xmas stuff: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/in_pictures/7116728.stm

Very nice! I love the color. Increase a whole lotta sts, work a few rows, decrease them again?

Very beautiful, the texture and color are both amazing. Your MIL is a very lucky lady.

Gorgeous pattern! Love the upclose shot.

I love it! Thank you for the pattern and the colour is absolutely gorgeous!!

Oooh, yeah, I like it too, so if the MIL doesn't, pass it my way.

I like it very much! I also consider the pattern a present, thank you :) This may have to go on the Red Scarf 09 list!

Cool scarf idea.

I love that scarf and the colour. So beautiful. Hard to believe your mother in law would not adore it!

What A lovely scarf! It looks very warm and squishy.

This gorgeous thing is your own design???...

I really like it. :-)

Thanks for the patern! I like it!

That scarf is neat but I think I'd have a really hard time remembering to change needle sizes!

You deserve the nap! Cute scarf.

Hooray for such a beautiful scarf!

Go take a nap. You've earned one.

By the way, where did you get the little ornaments for the christmas tree?

That color is beautiful. Great pattern, too. So lovely.

Oooh - very nice! I've been looking for a new scarf pattern to make for my new winter coat. This may be it.

i think that scarf is gorgeous! I'd love it if my daughter-in-law made me a scarf like that.

Thanks! I have some last minute scarves to knit, I'll have to check out your pattern - looks great!

The scarf looks fab. Gorgeous colour!
