today is 144th Lafayette - Lehigh football game. it's the most-played college football rivalry in the country (and in the world because no one else plays football). so yeah, they've played against each other more than yale and harvard have.
it's been a long time since i've been a 'pard (short for leopards) and i have to admit that i'm not one of those gung ho alumni. i visited a lot in the couple of years after graduation and i did go to a few local alumni events but i lost interest when i stopped recognizing people.
but whenever i see a "lehigh" sticker on someone's car window or notice someone wearing a lehigh sweatshirt, i can't help but whisper under my breath "lehigh sucks!"

day 218 -- no, i'm not watching the game. i might look up the score later. also, lehigh's mascot is now the "mountain hawk" but back in the day, they were the "engineers." seriously lame.
