one of my pet peeves, and i've been called on this because i seem to let it annoy me way more than it should, is when people who live here in New England, of their own free choice, complain about the winter. and how long it is. and how cold it is. and how snowy. and who wonder out loud if a couple of 60 degree days in february are signs that spring is right around the corner. as if spring has ever started in february ... ever. and then are angrily disappointed when we get 6 inches of snow the next day. yes, our winters are long and it can get old come mid-march when the rest of the country seems to be blooming all over the place and we're still standing there in our old grey wool pea coats and mittens and scarves freezing our asses off. but it's New England. and that's how things roll in New England.
but eventually, if you're patient, spring does finally get here.
